We made a movie for a church talent show activity. I think it’s funny.

In case you are wondering, I wrote the script in Celtx, filmed with my 9 year old Sony Digital8 camcorder (hence the not-so-great sound), and edited it with Corel Video Studio X2.

KSL 5 Eyewitness news in SLC, UT reports that Algore visited with Mormon leaders because, “Since [releasing his movie at Sundance Film Festival in 2006], he often takes the opportunity to meet with civic, corporate and religious leaders around the country talking about the dangers of and solutions to climate change.”

Wow, I guess we Mormons should be thrilled that it took him three years to visit our leaders. And what’s laughable is that the only “solution” to “climate change” that The Left can come up with is increased taxes and higher energy costs. Nice.

Mormons as a whole consistently vote conservative. Personally, I can’t believe our leaders even granted him an audience, and further I can’t believe they turned off the lights at Temple Square for Earff Hour! We stand strong against gay marriage in Kalifornia, but then we appease with leaders of a cloaked fascist movement to take away our God-given rights? I think someone has some ‘splaning to do!!

You’ll notice that he met with our PR dept to give his schpeel. I’ll bet the PR department would meet with Lilburn Boggs if they thought it could remotely help with PR.

Algore, go home. We Mormons already know that we humans, made in God’s image, are the stewards over the Earff. No one is out there saying we should pollute rivers, lakes, and streams or cut down every tree in all the forests! God has provided this earth for our use and enjoyment to further His purposes. All this “green” stuff is a diversion to tax us into communism, and God does not approve of communism. The whole reason we are here on Earth is to exercise our free agency and have joy. The Global Warming-err,..Cooling…I-mean-Climate-Change folks seek to destroy both.

The mainstream media and the White House are trying to alienate Rush Limbaugh because of his comment, now a meme, “I want Obama to fail.”

Rush is always right. I would have said, “Obama is going to fail, and I want everyone to see that he fails because he is a liberal and so are his policies; therefore, stop voting for democrats!”

But Rush is more succinct and combined those three phrases into one simple sentence.

Ronald Reagan said, “Government is not the answer to your problems, government is the problem!” The Obama administration and current liberal controlled Senate and House are speedily trying to turn America into a socialist/communist nation. We hear the Big Media incredulously ask, “So, you want Obama to fail, and you want the economy to collapse?”

Um…Obama will fail, and I want everyone to see that it’s because of his policies that the economy is collapsing. Capitalism and freedom, as set up by the Founding Fathers of our nation, is what drove the U.S.A. to be a super power.

Our nation’s big government/social agenda problems started out because of two things:

1. Originally, the founding fathers only wanted land owners to vote. They knew government decisions would directly effect people with “skin in the game.” Now every bum on the street can cast their vote for who ever will promise government handouts.
2. The 17th Amendment. Why do we have our House congressmen voted in by people of each state and the Senators also voted by the people of each state. The founding Fathers meant for the Senators to be elected only by each State’s legislature. This would truly insulate them from public opinion polls.

These two factors in combination have lead to elected officials promising tax dollars, our money, for causes that we wouldn’t support on our own. I would never fund abortions. I would never pay for some other person’s health care- they can pay for their own! I would never pay people not to work. I would never loan money to people who have no hope of repaying it. Yet, here we have it.

And it’s only going to get worse, comrades.

By the way, stop voting for democrats and start electing conservatives who will dismantle big government so that we can keep our money. The more money we have, the more money we can donate to our charities which can provide soup and a cot to homeless people- temporarily. So called “trickle down economics” rewards those who are willing to work harder and smarter. It also works better than Soviet Union economics.

Sometimes jokes don’t make sense unless you know the local customs and/or language. Here are three jokes that come to mind:
Guatemala:

• A mother sends her son to the tienda down the street to get some tortillas. At the tienda the T.V. is playing the Miss America Pageant. When the boy returns home he says, “Mommy, Mommy! At the tienda I saw on the television Miss California, Miss Arizona, and Miss Oregon!”
  His mom replies, “And mis tortillas?”
  “Uh, no, her I didn’t see.”
  [When you say “Miss” and “mis” pronounce is like meece.]
• A motorist gets pulled over by the police. The officer asks the man, “Can I see your drivers license?”
  “Would you believe it, officer?” said the man. “I left my license in my other pants.”
  “Okay, then. How about your vehicle registration,” asked the policeman.
  “Would you believe it, officer, I left that in my other pants as well.”
  “Ohhhh!” Exclaimed the policeman. “And don’t tell me that you left your billfold in your other pants too!”
  [You have to bribe the police to avoid going to jail for made up violations.]

Canada:
Q: What do you call a traffic jam on the reservation?
A: A blood clot!
[They’re called Blood Reserves up there.]

So just over half the country elected Obama. I seem to recall him saying:

“If you’ve got a gun in your house, I’m not taking it,’’ Obama said. But the Illinois senator could still see skeptics in the crowd, particularly on the faces of several men at the back of the room.
So he tried again. “Even if I want to take them away, I don’t have the votes in Congress,’’ he said

Well, guess what, he now has the votes in both the house and senate. So, what is on his agenda?
Taking away our guns. This just in from the “Office of the President-Elect” at Change.gov:

Address Gun Violence in Cities: …Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn’t have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.

First of all, the Second Amendment issue is not just an urban issue. Also, why would a black rifle or AK-47 be on the agenda? How many crimes are committed each day with an AK? Even if it were 100%, when you outlaw the AK, the criminals won’t care because they get their guns illegally anyway! Also, our beloved “assault weapons” are the ones we need to protect us against government tyranny. AKs aren’t meant for deer hunting. They are meant to kill the bad guys. Us law abiding folks only use them in a self/family defense situation. Why would the government want to take that away? What does Obama’s government have in store for us that they want our defensive rifles taken away ahead of time?

Look, I’m just an optometrist, but I know there’s a reason why the Second Amendment was placed directly next to the First Amendment.

Also, he speaks with two tongues. You can’t “respect the Second Amendment” and in the same breath ban private sale of firearms and ban entire classes of firearms commonly used for self/family defense. He’s a big liar. Thank you, America, for being so in love with Obama that you failed to identify exactly what change you were voting for.

Hey, Obama. Arming law-abiding citizens keeps America safe. Disarming law-abiding citizens makes America unsafe and ripe for tyranny and oppression.

I’ll go a little off topic today. In the summer I like to grill as often as possible. I thought I would share my favorite grilled chicken recipe:

Use frozen chicken breast and marinate for 4-5 hours at room temperature in a Ziplock bag using McCormick’s Grill Mates Southwest Marinade.
Grill on low heat for about 10-15 minutes per side.
Near the end, apply Kraft’s Honey Barbecue Sauce and then previously cooked bacon (or deli-sliced hickory smoked ham will do if you don’t have the time to fry up the bacon).
After another minute, apply Tillamook or Cache Valley colby jack cheese on the top, let melt, and then serve.

Voila’. Bon Appetit.

It’s similar to something I’ve had at Chili’s.
