optoblog Four Year Anniversary

on February 24th, 2009 | Filed under Optoblog

I started this blog in February of 2005. I can’t believe that I’ve had this website for that long. I’ve used WordPress the entire time.

I’m getting a little burned out of blogging. I’m thinking that I’d rather spend my time with my wife and kids. For now I’ll keep posting here and there- sporadically. If you’d like to buy the domain name from me, make me an offer. It’s a pretty good URL, and site visitors average 60 per day and page views average 105 (or 21,900 and 38,325 per year respectively). And if you go to Google and search “optometry blog” you will see that optoblog.com pops up number one.

Why has it taken you 4 years to figure out you would rather spend the time with your wife and kids? It only took me 3.
I finally took time off work (ie left the office and did not make any money) and went with the family to Disney Land. I did not miss work at all but I remembered how fun Disney Land is with kids.
Take some time off and go on vacation. Did you really go to school for 8 years to not see your family?
I finally figured it out for myself.

  2. Read carefully. It’s not work that was interfering. It was blogging and reading so many other blogs.

Stop reading this blog right now and go play with your kids.
